As a former Pupil of this school in the late 1970's I was very saddened to hear of its demise. When I went to the school it was a busy, vibrant and joyous place. The head mistress of the time, Mrs Broad, was well known in Deptford and Greenwich for her generosity and kindness, she campaigned hard to try to save the school from demolition in the 1990's but to no avail. Today only half a dozen town houses stand in its place, a very unfitting end to a school which lasted for generations. |
