New entry from Robert (Bob) Cheeseman in Pictures: General on 23rd November 2022

As a former Pupil of this school in the late 1970's I was very saddened to hear of its demise. When I went to the school it was a busy, vibrant and joyous place. The head mistress of the time, Mrs Broad, was well known in Deptford and Greenwich for her generosity and kindness, she campaigned hard to try to save the school from demolition in the 1990's but to no avail. Today only half a dozen town houses stand in its place, a very unfitting end to a school which lasted for generations.

I am particularly interesting in preserving its memory but need help to do so from former Pupils and Teachers. I would like pictures and memories, teacher names and generally anything related to this school. All E-mails will be answered and hopefully we can compile a comprehensive site to this fine school.

Send anything you have using the form below, especially pictures. Alternatively email me directly at . All will be appreciated.

This picture was taken in the 1980's by Alan King who went to this school in the 1950's. He is a surreal artist and you can see examples of his work by searching his name on the internet.

A little bit about myself.

My name is Edward Burrows and I attended this school from 1974-1978. I lived in Shearwater court on the Estate and was one of three brothers.

I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed so far to this site. I'm sure it will continue to grow.
