The Mecury local paper - 1998

Mrs Broad was Head of the primary school from 1967 - 1978 and was keen to instile a sense of importance to all her pupils from the Evelyn Estate. She was a well known figure in Deptford and Greenwich. She passed away in 1998.

In the Kew shot the teacher was Ingram as I always remember his habit of licking his lips and he was my form teacher in both the 3rd and 4th year. I'm sure we went to Kew in the 3rd year so that would have been 1960-61. The boy in the back row with the camera is Alan Woodley. The boy with his hands on his hips is John Agg who came with some of us who passed our 11 plus to St Olaves but he left after a week as he didn't fit in. At the right hand end of the back row is me. Middle of the front row is Ian Birkby kneeling to the right of him is Peter Llewellyn.

Sandra is Sandra Shine and it was she who circulated the photos. So I'm a little vague about these especially the girls! However most of the girls are named in the other group photo.

Picture for your great John Evelyn site. Nativity play - I think 1962. I am the tall shepherd on the left standing next to John Barton - Lynn Sawyer is the Angel Gabriel but the names of the rest elude me.
